EMF: Shockwave

(The EMF logo flashes on the screen.)

(We open up this edition of Saturday Shockwave as pyrotechnics rain down on the stage. The lights turn on. The fans yell and wave their signs as the camera’s scan the crowd. After a few shots of the crowd as the camera zooms out to display the location information. We get one more shot as the commentators begin to speak.)

JR-We are live in Nashville, Tennessese. Welcome everyone to another edition of Saturday Shockwave. I’m good ol’ JR, Jim Ross. I’m joined by Jerry “the King” Lawler and Kris “KG” Gaffney.

King-I just want to say that I’m not from here…but JR is.

Kris Gaffney-I think they bought it…

King-Anyways we have a great show headlined by Walter Melon and Troy Gafgen doing battle to determine who will take on the IC champion at Payback.

JR-Let’s get this show started with the first match of the night.

(“Fight Owens Fight” blasts on the PA system. Kevin Owens and R-Truth walk out on the stage with Candy. R-Truth is yelling “what’s up” as Kevin Owens looks intense as he enters the ring.)

JR-This is a match of two teams looking to bounce back after not winning in the qualifying matches last week.

King-I got a feeling that Truth might think he’s still in it.

Kris Gaffney-Makes sense.

As the lights go out the opening licks to Entrance Song by The Black Angels reverberates throughout the arena. Smoke begins to shoot up from the ramp and a random set of technicolor lights begins to flash poetically throughout the arena. Mr. Psychedelic Branden Leno smoothly walks through the smokescreen. Wearing some aviator sunglasses, light acid wash jeans and a technicolored paisley shirt he looks around the arena with a smile on his face. He casually walks down the ramp, smiling and dipping his sunglasses to get a good look at the crowd. He reaches the ring floor and jumps on the apron before taking a second to look at the crowd again, nodding his head to the music. He goes through the ropes and gets on to the second rope, raising his arms to his sides, nodding at the crowd with a smile on his face.

Orange looks around the arena, slowly pulls one hand out of his pocket and holds it just above his bellybutton and gives a lazy thumbs up before making his way down the ramp with his hands back into his pockets. Once at the ring, he slowly rolls under the ropes all the way to the middle of the ring where he does a kip-up with his hands still in his pocket. He walks to his corner giving a lazy thumbs up waiting for the match to begin.)

JR-Brandon Leno felt like he didn’t have his best match last week.

King-Speaking of noticing….you think Orange Reign noticed?

Kris Gaffney-I’m surprised he’s half awake right now.

[Brandon Leno start out locking up with Kevin Owens. Kevin Owens pushes him towards the ropes. Brandon Leno bounces off of the ropes. Brandon Leno grabs a hold of the ropes to make sure that he doesn’t go back to Kevin Owens. Kevin Owens runs towards Brandon Leno. Brandon Leno is able to counter with a drop toe hold that sends him flying to the middle rope. Kevin Owens holds his throat. Kevin Owens is slow to get up to get up to his feet Brandon Leno hits a few knife edge chops to the chest as the crowd yells “whoooooo” with each one. Brandon Leno tries to whip Kevin Owens, but it’s reversed by Kevin Owens. Brandon Leno bounces off of the ropes. Kevin Owens goes for a clothesline, but it’s ducked under by Brandon Leno. Brandon Leno waits as Kevin Owens turns around, and he connects with a super kick that puts down Kevin Owens. Brandon Leno goes into the cover on Kevin Owens. The ref goes into position to make the count. The ref counts 1………….2…KICK OUT by Kevin Owens. Brandon Leno picks up Kevin Owens and he twists his arm into an arm bar. Kevin Owens brings him over to the corner. Brandon Leno makes the tag to Orange Reign. Orange Reign climbs up to the top rope, and he lazily jumps off of the top rope, and he connects with an axe handle that puts down Kevin Owens. Orange Reign falls back into the corner, and he holds up a sign for the Orange Punch, or we think that’s what it is because Orange Reign doesn’t really have much energy to really give a real indication of what he’s going for.]

JR-Orange Reign is looking to end this match.

King-I’m not sure…is he?

Kris Gaffney-I guess…the Melon Gods will decide?

King-Maybe…

[Orange Reign goes for a Orange Punch, but Kevin Owens is able to duck under. Kevin Owens dives and he makes the tag to R-Truth. R-Truth steps inside of the ring, and he ducks under another Orange Punch, and R-Truth hits a side kick to the face. Orange Reign gets picked up, and R-Truth tries to whip Orange Reign, but it’s reversed by Orange Reign. R-Truth bounces off of the ropes, and he connects with a corkscrew flying forearm.]

JR-R-Truth is pushing the X-Force advantage here.

King-I’m unsure what the spinning does at the end of that move.

Kris Gaffney-Let’s ask Alycia Irvine, I’m sure she’d have an answer.

[Brandon Leno gets up to his feet. R-Truth kicks him in the gut, and he goes for the scissors kick, but Leno moves out of the way. Leno hooks on the Acid Trip. Kevin Owens attempts to break it up, but Orange Reign hurls his body to stop him, and does. R-Truth taps out. The team of Leno and Orange win this match!!]

JR-Although going for the big move there might have cost Truth.

King-That’s the truth…

(Lights out, crowd waits in anticipation and then erupt in both boos and cheers for The Irish God when green smoke fills the dark arena and a spotlight shines at the top of the ramp, all when Sinéad O'Connor & The Chieftains - The Foggy Dew plays throughout the arena. From the back, arms out and swinging cockily comes walking the Irish God, Lugus Cuhullin. He stops atop the ramp with his hands by his side and face looking to the ground and he raises his fists slowly making an X above his head. The Irish God slams his fists down and fireworks shoot from the ramp and lights flash green as The Irish God does quick shadowboxing with each strike fireworks shooting from the stage. He looks to the ring with his cocky smile.)

JR-You never know what Lugus Cuhullion you are going to get.

King-Well, he is a god.

Kris Gaffney-That means it doesn’t matter.

Ricky comes onto the ramp with a huge grin, accompanied by Miss Meadows and a pair of nameless showgirls. On occasion, he will toss commemorative casino chips into the crowd. Once arriving at the ring, Miss Meadows will instruct the showgirls to wait backstage.

JR-Ricky Vegas is making his debut.

King-Facing a god is a tough first night.

Kris Gaffney-And a former champion.

King-I’d be more afraid of a god.

[Lugus Cuhullion paces around the ring as Ricky Vegas stays on his side of the ring. The bell rings Lugus yells FOOOOOOK as he runs at Ricky Vegas. Ricky is able to counter with an arm drag that sends him flying through the air. He gets up to his feet, Lugus runs towards Ricky Vegas, and he connects with a back elbow to the face that puts him down on the mat. This time Lugus Cuhullion is dazed, and he staggers around the ring, and this time Ricky Vegas is measuring up on Lugus Cuhullion. He turns right h im as he jabs as the crowd counts along with it (One), another jab (TWO!!), another jab (three!!) another jab (four!!!), another jab (five!!), another jab (six!!), and finally he backs up and he connects with another hard jab that knocks Lugus Cuhullion backwards (SEVEN!!!). Lugus Cuhullion goes down on the mat. He tries to get up fast, but clearly he’s reeling as he gets up to his feet. He turns right towards Ricky Vegas coming off of the ropes, and he plants him down on the mat with a running boot that is known as the full house which puts down Lugus CUhullion. Lugus seems out of it, and isn’t getting up this time. Ricky Vegas goes into the cover on Lugus Cuhullion. The ref goes into position to make the count. The ref counts 1…………..2…KICK OUT by Lugus Cuhullion. Ricky Vegas hits a few stomps on the downed Lugus Cuhullion who is slow to get up to his feet. Ricky Vegas backs up to make sure that the ref doesn’t get on his case about allowing Lugus to have space, and also to plan for his next move as he watches as Lugus gets up to his feet.]

JR-Lugus thus far hasn’t found a way to get any offense in against the new comer.

King-He’ll get it in when he wants to, he’s an Irish God.

Kris Gaffney-Unless the Melon Gods tell him not to?

King-Naturally.

[Ricky Vegas hits a few fists to the face of Lugus Cuhullion. Ricky Vegas whips him to the ropes, and he bounces off of the ropes. LUgus Cuhullion bounces off of the ropes. Ricky Vegas lowers his head. Lugus kicks him in the face. Ricky stands up stunned. Lugus connects with a round house kick to the side of the head that turns Ricky Vegas around. Lugus Cuhullion hooks Ricky Vegas into a waist lock, and he throws him with a release german suplex.]

JR-That might have put the match back into the hands of the former Extreme Champion.

King-And current god.

Kris Gaffney-Then again, maybe it didn’t…he’s a god, it doesn’t matter.

[Lugus walks over to where Ricky Vegas is, and Vegas surprises him, and picks his leg, and locks on the Black jack, Lugus tries to roll through, but Ricky is able to hold on. Ricky grape vines the leg of Lugus. Lugus taps out!! Ricky Vegas wins via submission.]

JR-Although he left a limb open, and that was the deciding factor in this match.

King-You never know what it will be.

(“Ultimate Countdown” blasts on the PA system. Daniel Bryan nods to the crowd as he does the “YES” taunt down to the ring. He steps inside of the ring.)

JR-Daniel Bryan is a long time veteran of the EMF.

King-Syd and Daniel Bryan have had quite a few battles as well.

Kris Gaffney-He’s like the poor man’s Tony Ikeda to Syd it would seem.

(“Wrath and Cowardice” blasts on the PA system. Syd Khatru walks out on the stage, and he steps inside of the ring.)

JR-In 2020, both these men had history with the Extreme Championship.

King-Now they do battle because of it.

[Syd Khatru and Daniel Bryan throw fists to the face. Syd Khatru ducks under one of Daniel Bryan’s fist, but Syd Khatru turns around right into a Daniel Bryan kick. Syd Khatru staggers backwards. Daniel Bryan goes towards Syd Khatru, Syd Khatru hits a trash can shot to the face. The ref goes into position to make the count. The ref counts 1………….2…KICK OUT by Daniel Bryan!! Syd Khatru lets Daniel Bryan to crawl into the corner, and Syd Khatru hits a few kicks to the gut in a seated position. Then follows up with a choke with the knee.]

JR-Syd Khatru is using the lack of rules to his advantage.

King-That is a positive with the hardcore rules.

Kris Gaffney-They are there for a reason…or not there for a reason.

[Syd Khatru backs out of the corner as Daniel Bryan gets up to his feet. Syd Khatru runs towards the corner. He tries to go for a splash, but it’s countered by Daniel Bryan moving out of the way. Syd Khatru his face first into the top turnbuckle. He stumbles out of the corner, and he hits a front drop kick. Syd Khatru gets up quickly, and he drops him with a kick to the head. Syd Khatru stumbles around, and nose dives into the mat.]

JR-Syd Khatru might be in trouble here.

King-That will stop him sneezing so much.

Kris Gaffney-I’m sure that’s the least of his worries at least.

[Syd Khatru is slow to get up to his feet. And Daniel Bryan is able to tries to bring him down on the mat. Syd Khatru is able to throw him off. Daniel Bryan gets up to his feet. Syd Khatru kicks Daniel Bryan, and drops him with the Tiger Driver 91’!! Daniel Bryan seems out of it. Syd Khatru goes into the cover on Daniel Bryan. The ref goes into position to make the count. (“Game On” blasts on the PA system. Tony Ikeda walks out on the stage, and he steps inside of the ring.)

JR-Tony Ikeda recently won a shot at the Extreme Championship.

King-He’s in the race for the Tag Team Championships.

Kris Gaffney-Hopefully he’s not over looking this match.

Evil Ways begin to play as the arena goes black "Its been so long
Long hard days
they don't say
Gods change my ways
Change my ways
My evil ways"

So I set out
Cross that way
Strike them down
To make them pay
Change their ways
Their evil ways"

Soon as the beginning of the song is finished, The lights begin to flicker as the song picks up it's tempo and soon Zack Parker is out on the stage.

But I can't hide
Ooooooo
And I won't hide
Oooooo Yeah!
My Evil Ways.

Zack looks over the arena and crowd, sighs deeply and begins to make his way towards the ring

I found out
The hate grow cold
The god rise up
Damn my soul
Cause I aint change
Change my ways
I aint change

Zack rolls into the ring and gets to his feet as he looks over his opponent and then stares out at the crowd as the song ends.

JR-Parker knows a thing or two about being in title races.

King-Maybe winning this one might get him back into one.

Kris Gaffney-That’s one way to look at it.

[Tony Ikeda and Zack Parker stands in the middle of the ring. The bell rings Tony Ikeda and Zack Parker throws fists to the face that land. Neither wrestler backs down. Zack Parker finally ducks under one of the fists, and he runs to the ropes, and he bounces off of the ropes. Zack Parker runs to the ropes. Zack Parker bounces off of the ropes. Tony Ikeda puts him into a seated position and he puts him intoa chin lock.]

JR-Tony Ikeda is trying to wear down Zack Parker.

Kris Gaffney-One would hope.

JR-Tony Ikeda took advantage of Zack Parkers miscue, and got the victory.

(“Radio” blasts on the PA system as Zack Ryder walks out with his web camera. He films himself walking down to the ring. He enters the ring.)

King-You know…I never realized this…where does the camera go after he’s done walking down to the ring.

Kris Gaffney-Um…..

JR-Anyways this is an opportunity for the veteran Ryder to get some momentum against a contender to a championship.

The song Attitude by the Misfits hits the loudspeakers. A montage of Sythe's most hardcore moments hits the big screen. Sythe runs out with a series of green pyrotechnics..CHYOO-CHYOO-CHYOO..firing into the air. He plays air guitar on the whiskey bottle he's holding before ceremoniously turning it up for the crowd. He high fives a few fans before heading down the ramp to the ring.

JR-Sythe might be looking ahead to his championship match, and that is dangerous.

King-That’s assuming a lot.

The ref goes into position to make the count. The ref counts 1……………2…..KICK OUT by Zack Ryder. Sythe hits a few stomps on the downed Zack Ryder.]

JR-Zack Ryder has tried to get the match back into his favor, but has been cut off in every attempt of that.

King-It might only be a matter of time.

Kris Gaffney-I doubt Zack will view it that way.

[Zack Ryder is slow to get up to his feet. Sythe waits for Zack Ryder to get up to his feet. Zack Ryder gets picked up, and put down with a body slam. Sythe runs to the ropes, and he goes for the leg drop, but at the last moment Zack Ryder moves out of the way. Sythe hits the mat. Zack Ryder crawls away as Sythe tries to recover. King-But he’s not going for the cover.

Kris Gaffney-He might want to end it here.

[Zack Ryder puts up his signal for the Rough Ryder. Zack Ryder measures up on Sythe who is getting up to his feet. Zack Ryder goes for the Rough Ryder, but it’s blocked into a power bomb!! Sythe falls against the ropes. He goes to the outside of the ring. He climbs up to the top turnbuckle. He jumps off, and he connects with the Sythenator on Zack Ryder!! Sythe goes into the cover on Zack Ryder. The ref goes into position to make the count. The ref counts 1…………….2…………..3!!]

JR-Sythe might have lured Zack in there.

King-Not cool bro!

We hear the gentle sounds of a music box eerily creep throughout the arena growing more ominous, as Lux Aeterna Tenebrosi Stellata plays.

Ring Announcer: Ladies and Gentlemen…. Brace yourselves!

Smoke crawls across the canvas surrounding everyone in the ring, at ringside and the front row of the audience. Grace walks out into the middle of the stage smiling ear to ear as the arena lights flicker again, through the strobe we see The Wretched Nobody appear from nowhere.

Ring Announcer: Making her way down the aisle the lovely, and loathsome Morose Rose - Miss Macabre, herself, Grace Brutal! Her Dark Star hails from The Danvers State Lunatic Asylum, Salem Massachusetts and at Six Foot Eleven inches tall – at Four Hundred and Twenty Pounds he is… the four Time EMF Heavyweight Champion of the Woooooorld! THE WRETCHED NOBODY!

Nobody slithers under the bottom rope, and slides back sitting in the corner. Nobody reaches for the top rope and pulls himself back to his feet. He rolls his neck and glares hard at the floor as he rocks from side to side in his corner.

JR-The Wretched Nobody got the win over the Troy Gafgen recently. That might set him up for a singles title shot as well…especially if he can beat the IC champion here.

King-I’m sure that Wretch doesn’t need motivation to beat people up.

Kris Gaffney-Beating people up has it’s own rewards.

JR-Brandon Leno earlier was able to help his team to a victory.

King-But you got to wonder how much that took out of him.

Kris Gaffney-If it didn’t…what didn’t get taken out of him, we’ll be taken out very soon.

[The Wretched Nobody stands staring down Brandon Leno. The bell rings as The Wretched Nobody goes for the trephination right out of the gate. Brandon Leno ducks under, and he runs to the ropes, and he bounces off of the ropes. Brandon Leno jumps in the air, and he connects his forearm shot to the face/mask of the Wretched Nobody. This seems to only anger the monster as he runs at Leno. Leno is able to counter this with a drop kick to the leg that sends the Wretched Nobody flying into the second turnbuckle. Brandon Leno sling shots himself over the top rope, and he connects with a gullitine leg drop that sends The Wretched Nobody falling into the mat. Brandon Leno slides into the ring, and he measures up on the Wretched Nobody, and he connects with a super kick that knocks the Wretched Nobody backwards. The Wretched Nobody staggers back as he hits the ropes. Brandon Leno is able to put the Wretched Nobody into a small package pinning combination. The ref goes into position to make the count. The ref counts 1………….2…KICK OUT by the Wretched Nobody. The Wretched Nobody looks more angry than hurt. He runs towards Brandon Leno who is trapped in the corner, but at the last moment Leno is able to duck out of the way. The Wretched Nobody runs into the corner. The Wretched Nobody stumbles out of the corner, and he goes back into the corner. Brandon Leno pulls himself up to the second rope.]

JR- So far Brandon Leno has been able to use his speed advantage to keep the advantage in this match.

King-How long can he do that?

Kris Gaffney-Probably less time that Grace can swear.

[Brandon Leno goes for a flying double axe handle from the second rope. He is able to counter with a block, the Wretched Nobody holds Brandon Leno’s arms, and he connects with various head butts. The Wretched Nobody puts him down on the mat with a standing belly to belly suplex. Brandon Leno is rolling away to get up to his feet. Brandon Leno staggers out of the corner, and the Wretched Nobody grabs him around the throat, he lifts up Brandon Leno, and he drops him with a spine chiller!! The Wretched Nobody doesn’t seem to want to end it there as he goes to one knee both to recover and he is trying to measure up on Leno for his next move. The Wretched Nobody runs towards the ropes, and he bounces off of the ropes. He connects with the break through that sends him flying through the ropes, and he falls into the mat around ring side. The Wretched Nobody grabs Brandon Leno. The Wretched Nobody lifts him up over his head, and he throws him back into the ring with a military press slam. The Wretched Nobody goes into the ring as he waits for Brandon Leno to get up to his feet.]

JR-Brandon Leno might be in trouble here.

King-He was able to control the match at first, now it’ll be whether he can survive this.

Kris Gaffney-This doesn’t please Zack Ryder.

[The Wretched Nobody kicks him in the gut, and he goes for a power bomb, but it’s blocked by Brandon Leno into a Acid Trip. The Wretched Nobody struggles for a few moments, then out of no where he powers up Brandon Leno. The Wretched Nobody hurls him towards the corner. Brandon Leno hits into the corner with a buckle bomb. He staggers out of the corner. Leno gets floored with a trephination by the Wretched Nobody. The Wretched Nobody goes into the cover on Leno. The ref counts 1……………2……………3!!]

JR-The Wretched Nobody power might have saved him, and led him to the victory.

(“Judas” blasts on the PA system. Troy Gafgen walks out on the stage as AJ Lee skips around him, and he steps inside of the ring.)

JR-Troy has a long history with the IC championship.

King-I guess if he’s going to keep AJ happy, he’s going to have to win.

Kris Gaffney-Alycia Irvine probably wants to mention that none of this happened when she was around Troy.

(“The duck song” blasts on the PA system. Walter Melon walks out on the stage with Jack Heyman. Walter Melon steps inside of the ring.)

JR-Speaking of the IC Championship. Walter was the man who took it from him.

King-Well that’s because what the Melon Gods wanted.

Kris Gaffney-At least they are fair to everyone…even Tony Ikeda despite his fruit choices.

[Troy Gafgen and Walter Melon lock up. Troy Gafgen pushes Walter Melon backwards. Walter Melon bounces off of the orpes. Troy Gafgen goes for a big boot to the face. Walter Melon ducks under. Walter Melon waits for Troy Gafgen to get up to his feet. Troy Gafgen gets kicked to the gut that doubles over Walter Melon, and he drops him with a DDT that puts him down on the mat. Troy Gafgen is down, but it seems like he’s not ready to be beat as he attempts to get up to his feet, Walter Melon hits a few hard stomps on the downed Troy Gafgen. Walter Melon runs to the ropes, and he connects with a running boot to the side of the face that puts down Troy Gafgen. Walter Melon talks some trash to AJ Lee. Turns away, then turns back to talk more trash to AJ, but in her place is Ashley Irvine who yells “WATER MELON!!!” Troy attempts to attack him, but Walter Melon counters with a hot shot that sends Troy flying into the top rope, and connects with a bulldog.]

JR-We knew that was coming.

King-If you didn’t know it was coming, then you haven’t been paying attention.

Kris Gaffney-I guess not.

[Walter Melon goes to the outside of the ring, and he climbs up to the top rope. But before he can do anything. Troy Gafgen climbs up to the top rope. Walter Melon jumps off of the top rope, but it’s countered with Troy Gafgen grabs Walter Melon. Walter Melon drops him with a rib breaker. Walter Melon is in a lot of pain. Troy Gafgen takes a few moments to rest up as he watches what Walter Melon gets up to his feet. Walter Melon climbs up to his feet in the corner. Walter Melon climbs up into the corner. Troy Gafgen runs towards the corner. Walter Melon gets smashed in the corner. Walter Melon staggers out of the corner. Troy Gafgen hooks Walter Melon, and he drops him with the chaos maker. Troy Gafgen gets up to his feet, and he connects with a few stomps on the downed Walter Melon. Troy Gafgen picks up Walter Melon he grabs the head of Troy Gafgen, and flips him over with a snap mare right into a surf board stretch. Causing a lot of pain to Walter Melon. The ref asks Walter Melon if he wants to give it up.]

JR-This is a very painful hold.

King-But then again, nothing the Melon Gods can’t handle.

Kris Gaffney-Too bad they only help Walter if they feel like it.

[Troy Gafgen holds on the pressure as Walter Melon gets up to his feet. Walter Melon is nearest the turnbuckle, he flips over into a pinning combination on Troy Gafgen. The ref goes into position to make the count. The ref counts 1……………2………….3!!]

JR-Troy got so surprised that he couldn’t let go of hold in enough time.

King-I’m assuming it would have only taken one more second.

Kris Gaffney-That was a bit on the nose, but ok.

(Walter Melon rolls out of the ring. Troy Gafgen can’t believe what happened as Shockwave goes off of the air.)
